Mark Twain State Park

Distance: Five miles on 4 trails
Official Site: [www.mostateparks.com]

Mark Twain Lake has two trailheads for the trails. One is by the overlook and the other is accross the shower section of the campground. The trails connect to each other. By the overlook, you can do .5 mile which connects into a 2 mile trail and that connects into another trail. It is the same by the other trailhead. However, the first trail is 2 miles and it goes into a one mile trail. You can either go two miles or three miles. What I liked about the trails are the sections that overlook the lake. The trees had pretty fall colors. In the winter, it would be a nice view of the lake because the trees would be bare. In the spring, I imagine the woods have many early spring wildflowers because the trails are in the woods. One of the trails is called the dogwood trail so I imagine it is full of dogwoods in the spring. I enjoy going to this park in the summer because they have a beach and the lake is really pretty. Mark Twain's birthplace is also located at the park and is worth a visit. It costs money but it is really interesting. I will post some pictures as soon as I can.
